My First Bear Sighting in the Colorado Mountains!

Today I saw my first wild bear in the Colorado Rocky Mountains!  My mom looked outside when our dog barked and was like "OMG!  There's a bear walking through the pony field!"  I practically fell over trying to get to the window.  When I looked outside, there was in fact an adorable little black bear walking through the field!

I grabbed my camara and we all (my grandmother, mother and I) rushed downstairs and outside.  I know, it's seems insane to go outside when there's a bear so close.  By the time we got outside the bear was pretty far away.  I didn't get any pictures where you could actually see the bear but my grandmother did and I have displayed it above.  

The ponies were fine by the way.  My pony had just finished rolling and my mom's horse was out of sight.  We joked that he had fainted when he saw the bear.  He's silly like that.  Anyhow, seeing the bear was really amazing. The experience has completely changed me...  Or rather my room decor.  I want lot's of  bear decorations now!

May 1st Rocky Mountain Spring Snow Storm

April snow showers bring May flowers and what do May flowers bring?  More snow showers apparently.  After some nice spring weather and seeing my first wildflowers a few days ago, we are having a huge snow storm in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.  The mountains surrounding our horse farm have completely disappeared from sight and it's seems like the neighbors houses are going to be soon to follow. We're expecting a total accumulation of twenty to thirty four inches.

First Spring Wildflowers in the Colorado Mountains

Yesterday, on my way to see my pony, I saw my first wildflower of the year.  It was a purple crocus and is one of Colorado's many species of native wildflowers.  Later, while on a walk with my dog Chief, I saw a few groupings of pasque flowers as well...

They are also native to the mountainous regions of Colorado.  It was really nice to see them and I am very excited for more flowers to pop up and to be able to start gardening.

3 Margaritas Mexican Restaurant Review

Yesterday I went down to Boulder and got to spend some quality time there for the first time since moving back to Colorado.  It was nice to see some of my old stomping grounds and I ate lunch at this awesome Mexican restaurant, 3 Margaritas.  I had a lot of fun, the food was great and here's my review...

3 Margaritas is a family friendly Mexican restaurant with outstanding food, a fun atmosphere and some really cool decor.  

The service is fairly quick, they are reasonably priced and another great feature is the complementary fresh tortilla chips and salsa.

It has the absolute best Mexican food that I have ever tasted.  I ordered the enchilada and taco lunch special and my mom got the Mexican pizza.  They were so incredible!  Usually I dislike the sides that comes with Mexican food but because of the amazing sauces, these sides were just heavenly.  I ate everything and so did my mom.  If you live or are visiting a place near a 3 Margaritas restaurant I highly recommend trying it.

They are located all over Colorado and there is one in Fenton Missouri.  Oh and one more thing, I love the chocolate mints that we received with the check.
